The Dark Tower by morganagod The Dark Tower by morganagod
45 minute speed painting.

I'm almost done with the final book in the series, and I freaking love it. Patrick is erasing Sussanah's blemish if you want to know where I'm at.

When I have some free time, I'm going to do some more detailed work but this is such a simple and iconic image that's been in my head since Eddie's dream..

Oh well, back to commissions. I imagine that this is one of those arts that will only please me.

edit: Had to "fix" the beams.

edit 2: Had to add a couple of details after I finished the book. My eyes are so tired, but my heart is pumping from the awesome.

A friend of mine, who is constantly dissatisfied even with things that satisfied him once, told me that it was underwhelming.

I freaking loved it and I am now obsessed with the idea of making a Dark Tower Videogame. (The obsession won't last long.)

This is the greatest painting I've ever seen, I would pay unreasonable amounts of money to own it. I took acid for the first time last night and stared at this on my desktop background and the only way I could describe how I felt was basically the way Eddie and Jake describe staring into the flower in the vacant lot. Just fucking awesome.

I have also just finished the book and this image of the dark tower does speak true to what I imagined as well. Good job. I'd love to see more of your works based on the DT or other king series books. You got talent. People may not all agree but I think you've done something wonderful.

A Dark Tower fan? I never knew...

This is awesome. Mind me using it as a wallpaper for a few systems I have at some point?

maybe masks would help to establish a solid form, important for buildings. polygonlassotool is your friend here. also consider on the formlines, the doors or lights are rather like it would be flat instead cylindrical. also building in stuff like aircrafts or other buildings to demonstrate the size helps the eye to create itself the illusion

I never could get through 'Wizard and Glass' for some reason.. By the time he finally came out with it, I had just lost interest.. Maybe I should try it again from the beginning..

I thought Wizard and Glass was tough to get through until I got to Song of Susannah. NOTHING happens in Song of Susannah but the final book was awesome enough (imo) to make up for it.

I always considered Song of Susannah a 'bridge book' to cover the gap between 5 and 7, and as a book of several theories and explanations.

well I was about 8 or 9 when I read the first few books.. I snagged them from Mom.. Then there was that long wait for Wizard & Glass.. I just couldn't seem to get back into it. It might have been the fact I was devouring the 'Deathlands' series at the time...

Dude. Hardcore rockage. Thankee sai. :)

You should make an entire DT series. Perhaps even "re-imagine" some of the more memorable scenes, or maybe the ones we never got to see in the books. It would rock ass.

I haven't touched them yet but I will get there. The artistic theme looked suitably dark and dynamic
