Before I get to what I want to say, let me talk about how I came up with her face.

I basically tried to mix the features of the actress who plays her with ezmerelda from Disney's version of the Hunchback.

Also, I know I probably should've taking the entire helmet off, not just the class part. Meh...

and now for what I really want to say

Dear Bioware,

I know Tali will return in Mass Effect 2. Aside from Shepard, she's pretty much the only confirmed returning character. (If not, than who is the quarian in [link] ? ) Liara is somewhat implied by the comic, but it's conceivable that she won't return.

I also know that Mass Effect 2 begins with the Normandy being destroyed. You've implied that a group of beings called "the collectors" are responsible. The point of the game seems to be that Shepard is putting together a team of specialists to attack these collectors. Probably as a kind of revenge, possibly as a rescue attempt. I don't know. (I only say rescue attempt because I don't want the Normandy's crew, specifically Joker, to die.)

But what I do know, is that with these plot points, or some approximation of them, you could conceivably insert a romance with Tali.

Here's what you do, make it so that Tali is one of the very few comrades that survived the attack. Mainly because after the first Mass Effect she returned to the flotilla having finished her pilgramage. The first game makes the point that she's extremely talented when it comes to the mechanical, so ofcourse when Shepard begins putting together a team of specialists she's one of the very first he/she thinks of.

Then, you insert a level where Shepard actually has to go to the flotilla to retrieve her. During their reunion where Shepard is masked and she is not (because it's her home, she wouldn't be wearing a mask in her own home) you can begin a dialogue tree where they reminisce and bond. Shared tragedy can sometimes lead to romance-- at least in cheesy space operas it can.

Once the romance is started, obviously the immune system thing will come up but that makes for some great dramatic tension. Certainly, it would be more interesting than the love triangle of the first game.

So, making Tali a romantic option is possible and I'm sure it would please many ME fans. It might even move a few more units off the shelves. There is little to no detriment in making her a romantic option.

I say your efforts payed off big time. Because they did make her a romantic interest, but they don't show her face when she takes her visor off. Sorry about that part.

That was a really good idea for the romantic subplot that you came up with there, it's ashame that they didn't use it, I really want to be able to see Tali´s face for once.

Not to be peckish (is that how you spell it?) though, they made it clear that quarians wear their environmental suits even when they're amongst family on board the flottilla.
Though one could wonder how they came to be allergic to the flottila´s sterile environment after a few generations.

heheh, and shes my fave romance option in ME2
Too bad they didn't do the face reveal and use your art for a base. Damn that whole "its better not to see, lets imagination fill in the blanks". Its good for Wampas [SW:ESB], not for love interests!

That pretty much sums up my reaction to this. ;)

The way you've rendered Tali is just amazing...the colors give a certain softness to the design....and her eyes are just hypnotic. :love:
