OC, Do not steal. :D

So I was doing some random drawings, and came upon one that I liked. I fleshed it out a little bit, and posted it on my blog. But I wasn't satisfied with it so I gave a more extensive crack at it.

Now, what you see before you is comprises pretty much all of my waking hours since thanksgiving. For much of that time, I was simply trying to make cheesecake and it looked awful. Like, as bad as you may think it is now, and how it may not seem like I spent hours and hours on it, it was 10,000 times worse earlier on in the process. I was only able to make something presentable today.

The solution was I had to derive some justification for something that was initially meant to be cheesecake.

I wrote this character a backstory. First a setting, then a character history. Both of which can be found on my blog.

Now, this isn't the best thing I've done, but I noticed that once I attributed a personality, history, and meaning to the character she became tons easier to render.

The character design herself was inspired by Kei of Dirty Pair Flash, Caitlin FairChild of Gen13 (specifically Ed Benes early run) and the voluptous Denise Milani.

The one thing I'm fairly proud of is the face. I have this tendancy to smooth out features on pretty female faces. This makes the faces look kind of asian. Whenever I try to render out features like the nose, it always looks unnattractive.

I believe this was, at the very least, a step forward in rendering the intracate but subtle details of the face.

For now, I'm not lookin for crits, so I'm going to put crit discouraged. This is one of those cases where I see what's wrong, but don't have the wherewithal to adjust what I need to adjust. I'll edit it later, correct what's wrong, and then open it up to criticism.

edit: I totally forgot to mention something.

She's wearing [link] . I made two adjustments to the gauntlet. One, it's a mass produced tool, not a singularly unique object. Two, it is not the key to mass pollution. It is merely a tool.

I changed this because I wanted what she did with it to be amazing because the character herself is amazing, not the item she carries.

Like, a true artist can make a great painting with a toilet brush kind of a thing.

This looks great. I really do think so. I think the waist is a bit too slim, but that's just a matter of taste, so don't mind me. I really like the background, as well.

Looks like an interesting character you've got here. I hope you get the chance to better flesh her out to your satisfaction.

first to comment! I like what you've done with her, she's sexy but tough looking at the same time. I love what you did with her face as well as her figure and her pirate type outfit (cyborg limb was a nice touch as well)

Thank you. I'm glad you like it. Also, I have to thank you for reminding me about something that totally slipped my mind.
