OK, so a couple of years ago I made this review. Looking at it honestly, it’s way too long. I personally can barely sit through a 15 minute review, and this comes close to 40. I received some kind feedback, but I felt like I needed to go back the drawing board.
Now, I really like talking about games, but its more a hobby, and I have (still have) other obligations that kind of got in the way of me making more reviews. So in the past two years there has been nothing.
I’ve decided to try and start doing reviews again. I mean I have the footage, and I like talking about games and their mechanics, so why not? It’ll probably go no where, but that’s not the point. I honestly just want to become a more persuasive speaker.
With this attempt, I’m trying to be as concise as possible, but still communicate the information that I think is important.
Oh, and no numerical score. My opinion is subject to change. Hell, everyone’s is. That’s because we are all in this constant state of change called living. You are never guaranteed to wake up the same person you were when you went to bed. So treating your opinion as an unchanging numerical thing is… dumb.
Instead, I’m trying to focus on reviews as analysis rather than evaluation. I give a meaningless verdict at the end, but that’s not whats important.
So I’ve made a couple of these things, over the past few weeks and I’m actually having a lot of fun. I’m not a fan of my vocal delivery thus far, and I feel like there are awkward moments here and there in the editing, but I’m striving to get better so I can communicate what I feel is important more easily.
I know this isn't what you followed me for, and I appreciate your indulgence. I was planning on getting more work done, but I got a freelance job as a clean up artist for an animation studio. So I'm just exhausted and this is an easy thing I can do on the weekends to decompress.
I have grown up in a creative family. I see art as a means to connect. When I was a child I would draw images from my favorite movies as a means to connect with that fiction, to feel as though I were a part of it. It is how I socialize. I am not the most spectacular public speaker, but I can get a point across with an image easily.
My subject matter tends to focus on women, and the dichotomies of good vs evil, strong vs weak, and truth vs fiction.
I think about these ideas all the time. They offer complex means of expressing my psychology and connecting with the world around me.
